Recently we announced that Cathy Anthony had been named Board Chair for Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network.
Cathy is following in the footsteps of many other family leaders, going back to Jack Collins, our founding president and Ted Kuntz, our outgoing Board Chair.
On this occasion, we invite you to read a letter Ted has written about our movement:
While I’m passionate about all that PLAN has accomplished over its history, I think our most important contribution is in honouring, nurturing, and celebrating the wisdom of families.
I’m proud to have been part of a tradition that understood that families have both the right and the responsibility to provide leadership in the disability movement.
It has been a privilege to work along side incredible family leaders as Al Etmanski, Vickie Cammack, Jack Collins, Susan Whittaker, Arthur Mudry, Joan Lawrence, Chuck Walker, and others who are courageous, visionary, and passionately dedicated to creating a safe and secure future for all of our children.
I honour all of the families at PLAN. Each one of you was part of my safety plan for my son Joshua. This brought me peace of mind. For that, I am eternally grateful.
