Looking for Dynamic Speakers interested in Housing

In general Speakers should be:

• A family member with an interest in the topic area
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups of eager learners
• Willing to participate in a training program
• Willing to keep knowledge base up to date
• Able to bring the family perspective and co-present with a professional
• Willing to provide training to other presenters

Housing topics covered include:

• Home options
• Home ownership
• Supports and services for individuals
• Legal considerations
• A mortgage brokers perspective

This is a workshop with many sub topics. Look through the list and find an area that interests you, it may be that you have a strong interest in one of the areas but not in others. This is a workshop that lends itself well to sharing with more than one presenter.

We will train potential presenters by going through the presentation in depth. Please pick a content area that is of interest to you, a topic that you may be curious about and are interested in learning more about.

• An expert in the content area, they are a parent with experience and an interest in the topic area

Looking for Dynamic Speakers interested in Networks

In general Speakers should be:

• A family member with an interest in the topic area
• A family member with a current network
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups of eager learners
• Willing to participate in a training program
• Willing to keep knowledge base up to date
• Able to bring the family perspective and co-present with a professional

It would be an asset to:

• Have gone through the process of setting up a Network for a family member
• Have personal stories to share about the Network

In our training session we will go through the Network presentation and give potential presenters a chance to share stories and practice speaking. We will make sure to allow for questions and give you time to feel comfortable with the subject matter.

Looking for Dynamic Speakers interested in the Representation Agreement

In general Speakers should be:

• A family member with an interest or curiosity in the topic area
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups of eager learners
• Willing to participate in a training program
• Willing to keep knowledge base up to date
• Able to bring the family perspective and co-present with a professional
• Participate in training other speakers

Note – Speakers should have experienced the process of creating a Representation Agreement. In our training session we will go through the Representation Agreement presentation in depth, give potential presenters time to ask questions from professionals and give time for you to feel comfortable with the subject matter.

Looking for Dynamic Speakers interested in wills, Trusts, and Estates

In general Speakers should be:

• A family member with an up to date Will and an interest in the topic area
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups of eager learners
• Willing to participate in a training program
• Willing to keep knowledge base up to date
• Able to bring the family perspective and co-present with a professional
• Willing to participate in training other trainers

It would be an asset to:

• Be willing to share your personal experience of developing a will
• A basic understanding of the various trusts
• Able to take the lead from a lawyer well versed in disability law

In our training session we will have a lawyer go through the Wills, Trusts and Estates presentation in depth, give potential presenters time to ask questions and give time to allow you to feel comfortable with the subject matter.
