PLAN for a Good Life: Financial security is interlinked with social well-being
Financial security is one of the core pillars of a good life- the other one being social well-being. For our sons and daughters with disabilities, many live on low-incomes with limits to gifts, income and assets. We have heard too many stories of a well-intentioned financial gift or estate resulting in a loss of disability benefits.
PLAN offers a number of seminars and resources to assist families to secure the financial future of your relative:
- Wills, Trusts and Estates seminar is our longest running seminar and has been delivered to thousands of families in BC over the past 20 years. The use of your will and legacy, and knowledge of trusts is essential to your future financial planning. You can choose to take it either in-person or online. We also travel to communities upon request.
- Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is a powerful long-term savings tool. Not only with the money saved in an RDSP not impact disability benefits, the federal government will match funds with up to $3 for each $1 deposited. PLAN offers a number of resources on the RDSP:
