At PLAN, Community Connectors are the heart and soul of what we do. They work closely with individuals with disabilities, helping them build and nurture personal support networks while fostering meaningful relationships and shared experiences. Every Community Connector’s work is as unique as the person they support, and the role is all about creating vibrant connections that enrich lives.

We’re currently seeking Community Connectors to join our team and support some remarkable PLAN members. Read on to learn more about these inspiring individuals and the incredible opportunities to make a difference in their lives.

A Sports Enthusiast in Richmond
This PLAN member is a sports lover through and through. Living in Richmond with their close-knit family, they juggle two part-time jobs and enjoy playing a variety of sports, including basketball, golf, hiking, and biking. They’re even heading to the provincials with their Special Olympics basketball team! When they’re not playing sports, you’ll find them cheering on local teams or enjoying time with friends at a Canucks game.

As their Community Connector, you’ll help organize social gatherings, facilitate get-togethers with their network, and keep everyone connected. If you’re kind, organized, and love a good laugh, this role is perfect for you!

An Artistic Visionary in Maple Ridge
This talented PLAN member is a gifted artist, photographer, and horse enthusiast. They live close to nature and thrive on creative expression, from painting and crafting to performing at events like the Vancouver Fringe Festival. Their vibrant life includes art classes, horseback riding, and gardening, all while maintaining a strong sense of connection to their community.

As their Community Connector, you’ll help nurture their existing relationships, organize fun outings, and encourage new opportunities for social engagement. If you’re friendly, creative, and enjoy nature, this is an opportunity to inspire and be inspired.

A Musical Talent in Richmond
This PLAN member is a passionate musician, radio show host, and workshop leader who loves sharing their talent with the world. From performing classics like “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” to hosting engaging workshops through Curiko, they inspire everyone they meet. They also thrive in local community activities like Toastmasters and enjoy spending time with friends.

As their Community Connector, you’ll help them maintain and grow their personal support network, support their musical pursuits, and foster meaningful connections. If you’re reliable, enthusiastic, and love music, this role offers a chance to make a lasting impact.

Support a Creative Social Butterfly in Port Coquitlam
This PLAN member is an accomplished artist, performer, and woodworker who inspires others with their humor, creativity, and zest for life. They enjoy a packed schedule of art classes, gym sessions, and community activities, and they’re known for hosting incredible gatherings that bring friends and family together.

As their Community Connector, you’ll help them deepen relationships, plan memorable events, and support their vibrant social calendar. If you’re energetic, personable, and love creating joyful moments, this role is perfect for you.

As a Community Connector, you’ll work 4-6 hours per month with each person and family, with support from PLAN Mentors and regular team gatherings. Compensation starts at $25/hour and increases after three years.
