The Empowering Ability Podcast is a great place to hear fresh perspectives to inspire people with disabilities, their families, and the broader community. The Podcast was created by Eric Goll, who was motivated by his sister Sarah – who has a developmental disability – to create a platform for important stories to be told.
In Eric’s most recent podcast, he interviewed Helen Reis about the relationship she has with her brother Paul. Two years ago, Helen and Paul’s parents passed away, and Helen became the primary caregiver for her brother who has Down Syndrome. Since stepping into this role, Helen has encountered many surprises, challenges and rewards. There has also been enlightenment and learning along the way.
As our parents age, we know that more inspiring stories of siblings will emerge. To listen to Helen and Paul’s journey as siblings, we invite you to click the image below.
