Community is Calling

A reflection from Meaghen Taylor-Reid

Our inter-generational, decades long work provides abundance every day – abundance of connection and care, knowledge and access, empathy and kindness. It’s this work that called me to PLAN and recently, we’ve had multiple new team members indicate they also have needed to return back to community. Called back to community, in fact.

In a few cases, from business realms, and in others from government systems realms. Where heart is welcome with mind. Where doing the right work is more important than profits or waitlist management.

What’s even more fascinating is that this theme is in direct contradiction to staff shortages and exodus scenarios trending through most social service, education and health scenarios these days. Perhaps this is part of our litmus test demonstrating the work calling people, families and networks back to community. Our team members are following.

How has community called you lately?
