Alida joins us with a dynamic background that spans nursing, caregiving, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship. Her extensive experience is particularly notable in the community living sector, where she has spent over a decade fostering inclusive environments for individuals with disabilities. This role has sharpened her ability to promote social inclusion and navigate the unique dynamics of our community with empathy and professionalism. Alida’s commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels valued and connected is a cornerstone of her approach to support at PLAN.
Alida’s extensive nursing career, which includes various roles in healthcare facilities, enriches her mentoring capabilities at PLAN. Her medical knowledge and hands-on experience in patient care allow her to provide compassionate and effective support, enhancing our holistic approach to living good lives.
Beyond healthcare, Alida is an accomplished entrepreneur who has founded and managed her own successful business. This experience has imbued her with crucial skills in leadership, organization, and community engagement, all of which are invaluable to her role at PLAN.
A transformative experience in Alida’s life was her journey walking over 650 kilometers on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. This pilgrimage not only tested her resilience but also deepened her understanding of perseverance, self-discovery, and the importance of supporting others in their personal journeys. These insights are now pillars of her approach to mentoring and advocacy.
