Here I am with Kiki who is an amazing mom from Greece! She is a Board Member of a family created organization called Petegma, which translates as “bird flying from the nest.” Our conversations were so reminiscent of conversations I have here in BC with all of you.

What does having a good life entail?
This group of families decided that they wanted an alternative to institutional or group living and set about creating homes and supports for their sons and daughters (sound familiar?)
Kiki and I talked about the deep influence that Vickie Cammack and Al Etmanski had on them for years and how they fuelled their own advocacy with conversations they had about what their dreams were. The group expresses deep gratitude for those conversations. It was wonderful to share in that gratitude and keep those ideas alive!
