Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with a family for an afternoon of tea and memories.
We pored over a treasured family album from the ’90s, complete with scalloped edges, printed cardstock, and handwritten notes.
Each photo was a portal to the past—toddlers, youths, and young adults celebrating milestones like holidays, birthdays, and Disneyland adventures.
As stories of their shared journey flowed, so did insights into the supports needed for their daughter’s future.
The parents, aware of their advancing age, underscored the importance of preserving these stories, ensuring that future memories also find a place in a scrapbook, Photobook, or even a cloud file.
For now, we simply enjoyed the warmth of shared stories, reminded that while we offered advocacy support, the true value lay in the lessons they imparted.
