Celebrating Community Living Month with Future Planning

As we wrap up community living month, it’s a beautiful moment to recognize that more and more families are connecting with us already having wills, trusts, RDSPs and representation agreements coordinated. Even better yet, they’re all connected to realms of decision making, finances, homes, citizenship and connection. It’s thanks to each of you that these are possible, connections are made and supports are available. Yet, how many of you have chatted with your sons, daughters and networks about your wishes?

I have the tremendous pleasure of hosting a small group of families I’m connected with to create, review and recreate their family’s future plans. We’re connecting weekly on zoom, an hour each time, for six weeks.

We’re covering content ranging from your son and daughters information to your information and your end of life wishes to sharing ideas. I learned this week that most of these families haven’t decided on their own end of life wishes or shared them with their sons, daughters and networks of family and friends.

If you’re interested in this work yourself, please connect with your mentor. If you’d like the group experience, please let me know at Mtaylorreid@plan.ca

Also, if you’re interested in some amazing learning opportunities about end of life planning, check out these workshops at New West Hospice’s Dialogue on Death and Dying. https://www.centuryhouseassociation.com/dialogue-on-death-dying-2024/

Yours in planning,
