Al is an author, community organizer and social entrepreneur. Since the birth of his daughter he has been an activist in the family arm of the disability movement. As co-founder of Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network he proposed and led the successful campaign to establish the world’s first savings plan for people with disabilities – the Registered Disability Savings Plan. He is also a co-founder of Social innovation Generation (SiG) and BC Partners for Social Impact, and was recently awarded the Order of British Columbia and the Order of Canada.
