Dallas is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA and holds B.Ed, M.Ed., and Ed.D degrees from the University of British Columbia. Now retired, he was a professional performer and arranger for a number of years, and spent more than 20 years as a teacher in the B.C. public school system and as a sessional instructor at the University of British Columbia, frequently guest conducting local groups and serving as an adjudicator for both traditional and jazz festivals.
Along with his wife and daughter (a PLAN Lifetime member since the early 2000s), Dallas has contributed to PLAN in many ways over the years, most recently joining our Board of Directors in September 2018. He also currently serves as principal clarinet and assistant conductor with the Vancouver Concert Band and as president of his daughter’s Microboard, the Queen of Nature Society.
