Sophie brings 10 years of experience as a Mentor and Connector with PLAN families to her role as Director of Story Curation. As a community builder, poet and parent, she brings a broad and inclusive awareness of assets, resources and connections in the Lower Mainland. Trained in the theatre arts at UBC and creative writing at SFU, Sophie is also a member of the writing and performing arts communities in Vancouver. Through this work, Sophie has learned to re-envision, develop and celebrate stories around people and ideas.
As a mother of two, Sophie understands the important role that parents play in caring and planning for families’ futures. She is passionate about self-expression as a form of personal development and how this supports PLAN’s 5 Principles of a Good Life. She knows that every person holds rich gifts to be shared and encourages this kind of exploration with those she has the privilege to collaborate with as Director of Story Curation with PLAN. Sophie seeks to empower PLAN families through creatively amplifying voices of individuals, families and networks and sharing the deep and invaluable knowledge they carry with them every day.
